Amanda Parker JP was born on a farm nr Bashall Eaves, Clitheroe and now lives 2 miles away at Browsholme Hall with her husband Robert and their children Eleanor and Roland.
Educated at Clitheroe Royal Grammar School and then Newcastle University, Amanda has for the last twenty years run her own business in integrated business computer systems and home automation. In addition increasing responsibility for the tourism and weddings at Browsholme Hall, the oldest surviving historic home in Lancashire.
Lancashire Schools hockey, together with the development of young umpires, has always been at the centre of her voluntary work in the county. She has been the Chairman of Governors for Thorneyholme Primary School since 2002. She was appointed a magistrate in East Lancashire in 2005 taking a special interest in cases of domestic violence and recently as a Chairman on the family panel.
